One of my favorite sushi places in OKC. Very affordable for good quality sushi. Lots of delicious vegetarian rolls as well as other entrees. Atmosphere is great for an intimate setting--dark with dim lighting, with each table semi-secluded from the the rest of the space.

We eat here a lot. They have very fresh sushi and great items on their menu other than sushi. We usually order to go because the service is very very very slow. Other than the service- they are amazing! It's good for a date night or large groups-- just plan to stay a while.

This is my favorite place in OK. Well you should know the food here is so yummy. The menu is various (including kinds of sushi, noodles, rice, etc.). I like the atmosphere here. Everyone can feel his/her own privacy. The decoration makes people feel luxury but the price is not too much expensive. The service is very decent. They also serve wine and alcohol.

Awesome! The twister and angel rolls I had were LARGE and the fish was fresh. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. Just one thing I didn't like,,,, the menu pages were dirty! Other than that everything was great. Overall grade "A".

Perhaps the best sushi in Oklahoma City. My first choice for a date. The interior is beautifully decorated and doesn't leave you out in the open. Very kind staff. The food will make your mouth water. I had the Eating Nemo, Red canyon, Heaven, Angel, and beauty and the beast rolls tonight with my group of three and we were stuffed. Everything was delightful and perfect.

New favorite. I have an old favorite, Saii is my new favorite. We got takeout and it was amazing. Salmon sashimi, surf and turf roll, beauty and the beast, gyoza, and the lava cake (it was a celebration, okay?!). Everything was amazing, even the gyoza and lava cake standards. I especially liked the surf and turf roll (a shrimp and asparagus roll topped with grilled steak), which isn't something you find on every sushi menu. I can't wait to try more of Saii's delightful menu.

My goodness! I was so not expecting a restaurant this amazing while traveling to OKC for work! The rolls were unique and loaded with plenty of fish (no skimping) and the prices were more than fair. I enjoyed Saii so much I visited multiple times while in town. Judging by the crowds at certain times, I suspect plenty of locals agree with me. Service was always friendly, even during peak rush hours. I really liked the HOT TWISTER, so much so that I ordered it every time I visited. The jalapeno and sriricha worked well with the fish and the scallions. Eating Nemo was a nice contrast, that roll had a unique feel with the lemon. Make no mistake, I will be back when OKC is in my travel plans again.

Great experience! Saii Bistro offers great sushi and atmoshphere. If you want to impress someone, from a business lunch to a romantic dinner, you cannot go wrong with Saii. Even a standard lunch, with no agenda, makes you feel that there is a special occasion. The dark woods, ambient lighting and sounds give a great feeling, and allows you to have a more personal experience with your guests. The bar in the back is very cool, however, I have not spent much time there...yet. If you haven't tried it, you really should!

Saii is wonderful. I went for my first time this past weekend. The decor is unbelievable for Oklahoma. It makes you feel like you're in a big city. Both my rolls were very good. The waitress recommended the Angel Roll to me, and it was very good, very fresh! Their prices are very reasonable considering the quality, and atmosphere. I'm making another visit this week!

Good sushi, nice staff, cool environment! Between the 6 of us, we tried 6 different rolls, 2 appetizers, salad and miso soup. EVERYTHING was delish! We had 2 "regular rolls" - a spider and a California, the rest were things none of us had had. Go with whatever you want here! They are all good! The edemame was warm and lightly salted. YUM! The crab rangoon had a nice balance of cheese and crab. The ginger salad dressing was not what I expected but really nice! Everyone was happy! We were in a large booth tucked in a corner. A curtain of round gold rings (very James Bond 1978ish) acted as a separator. It worked and was just right! We'll be back!

I give Saii five stars, not so much for the food, but for the effort and atmosphere. They seem to work really hard at ensuring a quality experience, and I appreciate those efforts. This restaurant seems to differentiate itself through creating an intimate dining experience. The tables are intimate, with dim lighting and textile and pillows that provide almost a feel of dining in Morocco. The sushi seems very fresh, and I am never disappointed by their nigiri or sashimi. I love their super white tuna and salmon. Their edamame is a nice way to start any meal and it always arrives hot and fresh. I have had several rolls and they've never disappointed. They are colorful and ample enough to fill the heartiest of appetites. They offer a full bar with some great Sake offerings as well, enjoyed hot or cold. Saii is tucked into the back corner of a strip mall on May Ave, close to Honey Baked Hams and just north of Tao.

Saii is great! It is always somewhere I always want to go. On maybe 2 out my 8 or so total trips it took an extended amount of time to get food, but it has been worth it every time! I get a Spicy Cowboy roll EVERYTIME and it is a must try for anyone, as it is not too spicy. This last trip I had the roll on special, the Summer Dragon. It was delicious! It was fresh and spicy (it has jalapeño in it). I also tried the Beauty and the Beast roll and the salmon on it was melt in your mouth good! They also have specials several days of the week, like cheaper bottles of wine on Mondays and I think a mimosa special on another day. All in all it is a perfect date place and also a good place for a small group of friends. The usual cost is about $20 per person for sushi (you will leave full!) I'm not sure what the prices are for their other dishes since I always go for the sushi! The atmosphere is perfect and they have comfy pillows along the benches as well as curtains and decorations that separate you from the other diners making it feel like you're eating with just the people you came with, which is really nice!

Everyone raves about Saii, saying it is their favorite sushi place, however I find it rather average. You can find sushi just as good, if not better for a better price. For me, lunch should be under $10. Perhaps it is that i am not a big fan of rolls or lots of fanciness when it comes to sushi. I want fresh flavorful fish with perhaps with some garnishes that elevate the flavor. Do not get me wrong, I do not mind paying for quality, but this is just average dining for the price. Not great, not bad. Average. Atmosphere is great for an intimate dinner or lunch.

Well, this is a bummer. The number of check-ins that I have at Saii is embarrassing. The last handful of visits I've experienced were less than stellar, though. But I've enjoyed it so many times over the past couple of years that I continued to give it a chance. Over the last few months, the food has been subpar for what I'd come to expect of Saii, and the service has become rather slow. I'm not sure if that's on the server's part or the kitchen. Even when there are only a couple of tables filled, it takes a long amount of time to get any food, appetizers or otherwise. The last time I ate there, my food was lukewarm and included an ingredient that I asked to be removed. For the amount of time it took to actually get that food, that's incredibly disappointing. Their sushi is good, but also expensive in comparison to many other places. I feel like I have been to places with the same quality (or better) for a lower price. The drink prices are also astronomical. These little things weren't such a hindrance with the overall experience I've had previously, but they rear their little heads as other aspects decline.

Please consult with your primary care practitioner prior to starting a personality adjustment program. [] Recent Experience [] Soooo... This used to be one of my favorite sushi joints. And it still is if ambiance is the only thing worth considering. But our last visit, while delicious, was... not fantastic. We waited for 20 minutes with no one checking on us before someone realized, "Hey, these two have been waiting quite a while now." After we finally got a server, things picked up. We weren't in a hurry, so we didn't get snippy with the apologetic server, but the dinner ended up taking a lot longer than it should have. The sushi is quite delicious. I'm especially a fan of the no-rice rolls. The "Sexy Lady" is yummy. But... when comparing to other sushi joints, this place is also kind of expensive. For two people, it ended up being just shy of $50, and we left still kind of hungry. For around $50, you can get some legit sushi elsewhere, albeit without the dimly-lit, date-appropriate vibe. The quiz above will still do in a pinch if you need to figure out if your tastes are terrible though.

I'll be honest, I had high hopes for Saii after hearing all of my friends rave about it....but I was underwhelmed. Our server was nice and knowledgeable about the menu, but the sushi just wasn't that great. It wasn't bad by any means...but I didn't leave anticipating my next visit. My friend ordered curry and it was delcious! Maybe I'll try the Thai food next time. But, when it comes to sushi, I'll stick with Okura, which is right down May Ave.

I have heard and read amazing things about this place, but during my two visits, I haven't found anything to be amazing about this place. Don't get me wrong, the sushi, service, and atmosphere are all great, but not overwhelming. My favorite part has got to be the seating - with cushions and low lighting, this place has a romantic, intimate feel. Good place for a date for sure. The sushi is decent, with a large selection of rolls. I guess my one comment would be that they do not have very many tempura shrimp rolls (one?). This was odd since most places have several to choose from. I went for an early dinner on a week night, and even though there were only maybe two other parties in the entire restaurant, the wait time was closer to what you would expect had they been slammed on a Friday night. That was surprising. The service was not bad, but nothing to write home about either. In general, I think there are better sushi places in OKC, so maybe consider trying somewhere else.

Hello new favorite sushi bar. Since my parents recently moved back to OKC they have been getting acquainted with all of the spots we overlooked when we lived out of town. Saii being one of these places, but overlooked no more. It may be tucked in a shopping center but once inside the atmosphere totally changes that. I'm big on atmosphere and saii impressed! I came with my parents and a friend but this would be a great spot for a date night or girls night out! My sweet mom doesnt mind sushi but doesn't have the same love for it that the rest of my family has. She got the shrimp and chicken clay pot which was outstanding and the rest of is split 5 different sushi rolls. 3 of us finished it all, i'm going to try and pretend we didn't eat all of that. Every roll was perfect i couldn't pick a favorite. Great spot in OKC more people should know about!

I stopped here for the first time today. It was about 4:00 PM on a Tuesday, so of course it wasn't very busy. I was greeted by Mai at the hostess podium and asked if I could sit at the bar. I ordered a large Sapporo and the Beef Fried Rice. Mai served my drink, took my order, and in literally 5 minutes she had my bowl in front of me. Yes, this young lady was my hostess, bartender, waitress, and server. She carried on polite conversation throughout my visit, and it's my personal opinion that Saii is super lucky to have her. If I owned a restaurant... I'd try to steal her for sure. The Beef Fried Rice was amazing, and will definitely be back for more. Everything was awesome, and on top of that I was in and out of there in less than an hour. I wasn't expecting that. Like other reviewers said, the inside of this place is beautiful. Very intimate, and they have pillows on all the benches to get comfortable with. With the giant Sapporo and the Fried Rice, my tab was less than $20. Definitely try this place out if you haven't been. I didn't get to try any of the extensive sushi they serve... but I will.

Headed to OKC for the weekend and glad we came here for lunch. Since I'm in Lawton for a few months where the sushi is meh, I was glad we found this to satisfy my sushi craving! FOOD: Lobster Volcano roll (4 stars): The salmon on top was really good! Not enough lobster pieces though. Way too much crab on top so you have to search through it to find the lobster. For the price ($19) it should have had more lobster. Some of my rolls were missing salmon on top, WTH! I don't know what went on there, but I was so hungry I just ate it without telling them. Hot Twister (3.5 stars): Jalapeño on top gave it a spicy kick. Tasted fresh but not as flavorful as the lobster volcano roll, needed more of a sauce. Gyoza (3 stars): Standard Gyoza. Sake Bomb: Not on the menu but ask for it and they'll do it. Came in short glasses so we couldn't really drop it in the fun way by balancing it on chop sticks. SERVICE (5 stars): Girl was really nice and helpful with suggestions. ATMOSPHERE (5 stars): Really nice inside! The booths feel secluded so it's great if you have a group. Open layout, clean bathrooms. Sushi bar looked nice to sit at too. It is a little more pricey here though, so you pay a bit more for the atmosphere. PARKING: Own separate lot.

I've been here 3 times in the past few months and I've been trying not to review this place but enough is enough. I run into the same issue every single time. IT TAKES FOREVERRRR TO GET YOUR FOOD. Plus, the food is mediocre at best. Give yourself at least an hour and half for lunch, even when it's a slow day. And I mean 3 tables in the restaurant. I'm actually sitting here waiting on my food as I write this. I was immediately seated at 6:50. Bravo! However, it's 7:40 and we still haven't received our appetizers of steamed gyoza, which is probably packaged (definitely tastes like the ones I've tried from Cao Nguyen), and our yellowtail jalapeño bomb, which is not very good. Fish looks to be mangled by some rookie chef and sauce is not pleasant. If you're looking for a restaurant with the whole package, this isn't it. They've got the atmosphere and decor going for them but that's it. Maybe they should think more about their quality of food and service, than the way their establishment looks. Oh, and an 8 top table behind was left un-bussed for about 30 minutes or so. Just avoid this place or you'll find yourself irritated like me.

Beautiful environment. Mix and cocktail drinks are the best here! Love all the waiters and waitresses. One of my favorites roll is the alligator roll!

  • Tes H.

Absolutely love the atmosphere. Each table had a sort of barrier, so even though the restaurant was full, it still felt like you were in a cozy environment with just your party. Perfect for dates. The waitstaff was very slow, but it was a Saturday night. The sushi was very good; we ordered three different rolls. Not the best out there, but definitely worth going back for. Decent prices. I will say our appetizer was very late and came out cold. I think we will try going on a weeknight next time to see if the service is any better.

Slow service for an empty place on a Tuesday night. You can get better sushi a block south at Sprouts.

UPDATE: 9 November 14 I'm bumping this place up a star. I went back again tonight with a friend in town, and it was a very fantastic experience. Coming back, I really do love the vibe here. It is beyond intimate for date night with built-in partitions that are private yet keep the space open. Warm gold lights and glass are perfect for mood. Challenger roll was very, very good with complex flavors. Highly recommend this one! Have come to terms that the spicy salmon roll here is unremarkable and doesn't really taste like salmon. I don't recommend that one. We got a fried creamy roll or something, and that was really good. Half cooked, half raw, then tempura battered and lightly fried. I'm not a cream cheese person, so it's a sufficient compromise for cream cheese lovers and non-cream cheese lovers when sharing sushi rolls. Seaweed salad is excellent! Still kinda pricey for $5, but tasty and not too sweet. We walked out at $50 still... which seems kind of steep! All in all a solid experience tonight, and I am glad that we did come back here. -------------------------------------- REVIEW: I've kinda got mixed feelings on this place. Atmosphere is beyond fantastic for a date night. Quiet, intimate, and great lighting. (Confession: I started to write "righting" instead of "lighting." Clearly too in the zone....) Service was just fine, but oh my sweet baby Jesus, I think they were cooking rice to order for every sushi roll. Even if the company was great, I haven't had a wait this long in a restaurant in years! The restaurant was less than half-full, too... The food itself was in general good. Fish-to-rice ratio is commendable. We had four different rolls: spicy tuna, spicy salmon Cali, Eating Nemo, and Firecracker roll. They do dice the fish inside the roll to a masticated texture, which some people like while others don't. One of the rolls had fish that tasted like it was starting to turn though... The simplicity of Japanese food means that each element has to be perfect, or else it is easy to detect problems in the food quality. (Because of this, my #1 rule for sushi restaurants is *normally* not to eat there if Chinese people ("my people") own it. Japanese people take much more pride in their sushi since it is an art to them.) I would give this place a second try though. One would never guess you could find such a nice atmosphere in an unassuming strip mall.

Ordered the sashimi variety and spicy Basel noodles and the tuna bomb roll. Food was great like usual. We asked for a to go box and we were handed a dirty container. If I didn't look at the container before placing the food in I would have never noticed it, but I always check for clean dishes and to go boxes. We asked for a new to go box because the one we had was dirty. I heard the waiter ask the guy behind the counter why it was dirty and when he came back the container looked like the previous only wiped down (lid still dirty). Some might not think it is a big deal but it grosses me out.

Wow this place was amazing. This was the first time I've been here but my boss loves this place so I had to try it out. The vibe is awesome, I felt like it portrayed a real sushi house. We made reservations just in case so if you are going they make reservations for 630 and 830. Not sure why they don't reservations at 730. Maybe its because that is a common time for dinner. Anyways the price point is high due to it being a sushi house but I got a California roll and a yummy roll for 5 bucks a piece which isn't bad. The California roll was good but the yummy roll was delicious. It was fried sweet potato with spicy mayo. Delicious. I would definitely go here and if I had a special date this place would be great to go. Just embrace yourself for the price.

Love the ambiance of Saii. I always start with a seaweed salad. The Firecracker roll is one of my faves. And definitely grab some unfiltered Sake. Plan for it to be busy with a wait if you don't have a reservation, especially during the weekend. The back bar is seat yourself and full-service though!

Beautiful food, atmosphere and staff. It's Friday afternoon and the place isn't crowded. Honestly I'm shocked. Loved my saii-rita. In fact, I had two! The food was OMG good. This place would be amazing for a date or just a girls night out. Love the decor. It's closed seating kinda. Little nooks to hide in and have a nice meal without feeling exposed to everyone else's business.

The best sushi place we've been to in OKC. The atmosphere is very nice, the room is slightly dark and there are pillows on the seats, and of course the food is great. I would recommend the Heaven Roll, it's a house specialty roll with shrimp tempura and yum yum!

It's in a strip mall. But that's ok. It has that running water thing going on it--that thing you expect to find at an Asian restauraunt for some reason? It might not even have that honestly but they all seem to have that. Does that make me racist? I hope not. Not my intention people. I liked the food I ate. I got a clay pot or something like that. It's been awhile since I went there and now writing this. I think I would go back. It's not top of my list but I ain't mad at it either. The wait staff was a little eh. Not great not offensive. But I liked my food.

Not good. Took forever to get food. Ordered a sushi roll and some fish platter. Very expensive for such a small amount of food. Tasted like artificial asia. There are much better options out there that are cheaper and less hipster.

This place is very intimate and fancy for being located in a strip mall. Excellent decor and impressive atmosphere. The lighting is very low which helps add to the intimacy. The menu has many items to choose from, especially their sushi and sashimi rolls. I ordered a seaweed salad, edamame, philly roll and a toasted coconut roll. The rolls were exceptionally priced. There were some pricier rolls around the $14 range but mine were $7-8 and totally worth it! The salad was crunch and lightly dressed. So good and fresh! The edamame was what it was. It was no different than the frozen microwave edamame you buy at Walmart. The rolls were some of the best I have ever had. Large pieces and very filling (which is hard for me to fill up on sushi). Large pieces of fish and fresh toasted coconut made the dish just epic. For dessert our waitress suggested their new dessert, tempura fried lava cake with green tea ice cream. Over all, not bad. The tempura was a bit strange but the lava cake and ice cream were appetizing. This place would perfect for a romantic dinner for two or a fun place for a group of friends. Not a good place for young, noisy children. I am definitely going back!

So Saii, you and I have known each other for some time now. I've managed to visit you three times this week and I feel like I've finally got to really know you now. Here's my opinion of you in three short, but ultimately powerful words: I love you. The last couple times I've visited you I got the delightful experience of getting to try your delicious Red Curry. Unfortunately, I can't rate you above five stars but know you're an eleven in my heart. I've been to so many places that advertise that their curry is going to be spicy and have had my heart broken many times, but I decided to take a chance and put my heart in your hands. You cherished it and loved me. Thank you for that. On a previous visit I tried your Spicy Noodles and you did not disappoint. It was love at first bite and I knew I would be coming back for more. I'd probably give this four and a half stars, five if it had just a little more kick, but I realize not everyone has the cast iron stomach I was blessed with. Every time I come here I see the volcano chicken on the menu. Finally I pulled the trigger and placed the order. To my surprise the server brought out a clay pot and poured a strange liquid into it. This seemed normal and then he lit it on fire! I give you a five for flavor and a ten for presentation. Your service has been impeccable and friendly. At this point they're starting to recognize me and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. It may be a sign of my addiction to you. I don't care. I'm going to come back and order more delicious curry until I'm banned from seeing you again. I'll be back. I promise.

Really a 3.5 for me. The sushi was pretty good but wasn't blown away. I think Tokyo Japanese Restaurant has better sushi but Saii has more americanized style sushi. It was fresh, the rice was right. The server didn't bring out something to put soy sauce in or straws, we had to ask, a minor fault, but nothing too bad. The Gyoza was yummy. Big thumbs up there. The Edamame was nice. The appetizer dishes were smaller. The restaurant looked nice and you could tell time was spent into making it look nice. Looks like a nice date night restaurant. Thumbs up from this reviewer and I am sure I'll be back. Definitely one of the better sushi places in OKC.

A friend recommended this place to me as her go-to sushi joint. The first time I came here I only ordered sushi and thought it was good, but I wasn't that impressed considering the $80 bill for two people (we splurged). In my subsequent visits, I branched out more, basically ordering anything that sounded fun/interesting (but not too interesting). I think this is where Saii truly excels. They have many creative dishes that are delicious and visually stunning. The atmosphere is really great, probably the best in OKC for sushi joints. If you get a booth, they have comfortable pillows on the seats. The place is perfectly lit with nice decorations and just enough seclusion from other tables (if you get a booth). To close, if you just want the basics, Saii is not the most cost-effective option. However, if you want to be treated to amazing dishes with some spunk and creativity behind them, this place is great. I'll likely be going here for my upcoming birthday, which is the highest honor I can give to a restaurant. :P Also, it's worth noting that my businesswoman mother, who constantly travels for work, thinks this place is amazing for how "affordable" it is compared to upscale places with comparable high quality. For me, Saii is a once-a-month place due to its relatively high prices, but I can imagine how wealthier people could see it as a great bargain due to how good the food is, how comfortable the atmosphere is, and how fun the experience is. Expect to pay between $20 and $40 per person, depending on how much you splurge.

  • Uber M.

Saii used to be awesome. Now it's just kind of ok. They've moved toward having cooked specials that often incorporate something anti-sushi, like cream cheese. Some of the classic rolls have slid as well. You'll still get the benefit of a relaxing atmosphere if you're working a date night, but if it's all about the taste you've probably got better options.

Excellent! My go-to sushi restaurant in Oklahoma City. Contemporary ambiance with lounge/chillout/down tempo music. Delicious food & full bar. Excellent courteous service. I highly recommend Saii.

Okay - i read the local reviews and took a shot. This is average by comparison to other places. The sashimi appetizer was fine. But All the raves about the Volcano Roll is hype.- if you like average imitation crab piled up with overcooked scallops and crawfish then washed in a tub of mayo, you can have it.

Great drinks, wonderful atmosphere and sushi/sashimi that was incredible. The heaven roll was very good. Had salmon and yellowtail tuna sashimi both delish. Have already recommended it to 5 friends and it's been only 12 hours since I ate there. Saii has become the new favorite whenever in OKC

On a whim, my super sexy husband and I tried this place during rush hour on a Friday night. The parking lot was full but very accessible to the restaurant. As we expected, they were packed and on a 20 minute wait. However, the very friendly and the smiling hostesses gave us an option of waiting at the bar, which we chose to do. One hostess actually came back to us with an available table within 10 minutes! I only wish they would have allowed us to transfer the bar tab we had just started to our table. Instead, we had to cash out at the bar, which was a little inconvenient. I love the atmosphere and lighting in this restaurant! It is eclectic in the modern sense and unique. It reminds me of the small, tightly packed, but intimate restaurants of New York. Definitely a date night place. Not meant for kids, but I'm sure they are welcome. Please opt for a baby sitter, though. This is where I would like to go for a romantic dinner with my husband hoping to avoid screaming whining babies or small children surrounding us, ruining the moment. Believe me, mommy and daddy deserve a romantic night out too! We were immediately greeted by our well dressed and professional server who was very knowledgable about the menu, including their sake selections, which she helped us with. I can't recall the brand, but her recommend was great and it was served speedily and at the perfect temperature. We prefer ours warm. They use the teamwork system here so expect to see several servers at your table bringing food and drinks when they are busy. Personally, I like this system. It ensures you are not neglected when your server is slammed. We proceeded our meal with the edamame, which arrived in a timely manner and steaming hot. It was very good. For our entrees; I ordered the super white tuna sashimi with a seaweed salad. Both were great! The sashimi was very fresh and well cut, though a bit thick for my preference. From their specialty menu, my husband ordered the "wild basil" with chicken, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, zucchini and baby corn sauteed in garlic basil sauce. He really enjoyed it. I tried a bite with the steamed rice and also thought it was very tasty. We skipped dessert, although their selections looked very promising. We'll give one a try next time. Overall, we really enjoyed this place. The unique atmosphere, the efficient service, the good food and my dreamy-eyed hot date made for a wonderful dining experience. We will be going back! The only drawback was the restroom situation. They have only single bathrooms for men and women and there was a long wait outside the women's. Some women were actually sneaking into the men's bathroom to avoid the long wait. As busy as this place was, it should have better restroom access. However, the restroom was clean and well maintained. At least the men's room was.....wink wink! ;-) Go and enjoy!!!

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in OKC. Great food and an atmosphere that can be both romantic for a date night and laid back for a fun dinner with friends. I almost always order the red curry even though it's not on the menu. It's spicy but great flavor and one of the best curries I've had. The only catch at Saii is that the service is sometimes very slow and the staff seems to have an attitude sometimes, even when talking to customers. Overall, great place that I would recommend to others with the warning about the service.

I feel like the service here has gradually declined over the past year. I usually frequent this place for dinner & try to mix up what I order so I can try more options. The hostesses are sometimes a little snooty & I feel like I get different levels of service depending on how well I'm dressed. If you're trying to get out of your shell & eat alone, this is probably not the best place to try to implement that practice. Other than the mediocre service, the food was great! One thing I will mention, is that every single time I go to this place, they're out of green tea ice cream! Keep up with the demand & keep enough of this great stuff stocked please!

I really enjoy going to Saii it's very intimate and private in some areas however the benches at the tables should be updated because you sink in. The sushi is incredibly, best in Oklahoma City.If you have never been you definitely want to order the Heaven roll, Eating nemo roll and the college roll they are absolutely delicious and very well plated! I have always experienced pleasant service, the staff is good at being attentive yet not disrupt your dining experience.

Saii is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to eat in Oklahoma City. I have had sushi there before but the last two times I have order the Sizzling Basil Chicken and Shrimp Stone Pot and it is incredible!! The flavors are wonderful and makes for great leftovers! The atmosphere was nice as we were seated towards the back of the restaurant in a sofa booth. The waitress was very attentive and personable. I am already ready to go back and am craving that Stone Pot!

This is a great restaurant for a group of friends or an intimate date. The lighting is kept low and the booths and tables are spaced out enough for privacy. Once you step inside, you forget that it's located in a strip mall. Whoever the decorator was, they did a great job with the interior. We ordered the spider, spicy tuna, and fabulous rolls. Everything tasted great. Prices were even better. It ranged from $7-12 which wasn't bad at all. Miso soup wasn't anywhere on the menu but I asked our waiter and he said they did have it. It was $3 for a small bowl. We arrived right before 8pm and there was about a 20 minute wait. We decided to sit at the sushi bar and got immediate seating. When we left, there were a ton of people crowded around the door and a small crowd gathered in the parking lot waiting to get in. I was surprised how crowded it got so I'd suggest making reservations on weekends. We got lucky, I guess.

If you want to go out and spend money on some quality sushi, then I would recommend this place. I had the sharkbite roll and some salmon nigri. All of the ingredients were top notch and the composition of the rolls were beautiful. The atmosphere is pretty fancy and the service was good as well.

Super romantic ambiance! Great food! Fried rolls are very big and cumbersome- need to use a fork. Great wine list too!

Hands down. My favorite restaurant in OKC. I like places with a great atmosphere and exceptional food, Saii has both! Great staff too! The only thing is I wish they stayed open/served food later Thursday-Saturday.

Saii, you truly are a sushi-lover's dream in OKC. Not only do they offer a ton of unique rolls but they also have a great non-sushi menu. I recently tried the peanut curry and liked that it had spice, but not too much. I also love the way Saii feels "fancy" but without the expensive price tag attached with it. This is a great place for a date or a night out with friends. Excellent service from the entire team! If someone is walking by your table and sees something that needs to be done, they'll do it, even though they aren't your server. I value that pride in a restaurant. They also have a very nice selection of wines and sakes. You wouldn't know it from its location in a shopping center, but Saii stacks up with all of the wonderful Asian bistros in the city.

Ordered the calamari roll and the heaven roll. Both were very delicious and had great flavor. I ate at the bar and the service was quick and attentive. Waitress never brought out the sake I ordered but I didn't press it (loss of star). Fortunately it was left off the bill so I'm not sure what happened. Would love to eat here again.

Nice place. Has good ambiance and the staff is super friendly. The sushi was not the best I've ever had but close to it. The Philly roll had asparagus instead of the traditional cucumber. That made it the best Philly roll I have had! It melded with the cream cheese and salmon to make a heaven of flavor.

Went here for dinner last night. For an appetizer we had the mussels and crab Rangoon and they were wonderful. The crab Rangoon had a more modern twist on a traditional favorite so it was less rich than it sometimes is. The seasoning on the mussels was perfect. For dinner I ordered the rainbow roll - my standard - and the eating Nemo roll. My rainbow roll tasted very fresh and it was really good. The Eating Nemo was also delicious. It had an assortment of fish including spicy tuna and it had some lemon zest added to it. The flavors really complemented each other. Itwas a really great meal. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant were also really nice. It would be a good date place. The only downside is that it's very loud in there.

The service was great, the environment was beautiful, but the sushi was a huge disappointment. My roll had spicy tuna inside (usually my favorite) but the mix was very watery and had the consistency of apple sauce. I was so hungry but couldn't bring myself to finish the mushy wet roll. I don't plan on returning or recommending this place to a friend.

It's so fancy shmanncy inside...I suppose that's why they say "don't judge a restaurant by it's nondescript strip mall" or whatever it is they actually say. A friend suggested Saii for a girls night out, otherwise I would never have given it a chance. I'm so glad I did. The sushi and roll choices were standard for these parts and all tasty. The drinks were drinky and the service was attentive but not overbearing. I love the ambiance and decor of Saii Bistro. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to have a more private dining experience along with "regular" seating options. I love the chain curtain that separates the bar area from additional seating. You could certainly do worse in a destination for food and drinks to fuel a fantastic night out.

Came here with a group of friends on Friday night, and was pleasantly surprised there was no wait! I guess we got lucky and hit them at a good time! I'll be honest, I'm always a little skeptical of restaurants located along strip malls. But upon stepping inside it felt like a pretty fancy restaurant! The pricing at Saii is very reasonable, the dynamite roll I ordered was $6, with the higher end rolls still only being about $10-15. The waitress was very attentive to refilling our drinkings and clearing away our plates. I couldn't really tell how busy the restaurant was, but it took our order a little while to arrive. The atmopshere is pretty fancy, but with a privacy of the seating set up it doesn't really matter what you wear. We were headed to a costume party afterwards, so if I can show up dressed like I came from the 1980s I think any type of dress is appropriate ;) Overall: I'd try it again, but maybe order a different roll. the dynamite roll wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best roll I'd ever had. Glad I finally got to check out this restaurant I'd heard so much about :)

Either the sushi chef was on fire for one night or this is the best sushi place in town. The lobster bomb was incredible and their red canyon may have been the best of that sushi arrangement I have ever tasted. Definitely better than the renditions I have had at other places. The prices are the same as any other place near this quality. This has definitely become my "go to" place for sushi. Excellent service as well. We were greeted with smiles the second we walked in the door and the "welcome" attitude stayed throughout the entire meal. When we left, every staff member we passed on the way to the do made us for very appreciated for dining there. The server was a superstar!! I wish I could remember his name. We had a table of five with two teenagers and a 4th grader. We wanted for nothing. On top of his excellent service before and during the meal, he removed any leftovers from the table and returned with them boxed and ready to go. Although this was not classic fine dining, he gave us the service expected in the highest end restaurant. All restaurants/servers should follow this lead, regardless if a quick service national chain or "month of salary to eat there" place. Absolutely great! Will definitely return!!!

A+++ Great...Sushi, Dinner & Atmosphere My husband and I came into Saii as we were driving by...it is close to home and we liked the signage...so we thought we would take a chance - we are glad that we did! Saii is now one of most favorite go-to sushi and more places. The staff and chefs are super accommodating. The food is fresh, well prepared, excellently presented with generous portions. The atmosphere is really happening - surprising given its staid facade. Some of our non-sushi favs are the spicy scallops and pungent chicken - a nicely executed version of sweet and sour chicken. All of the dinner options have been executed with care. Overall - excellent. Check Saii out.

I had low expectations for OKC sushi. The atmosphere was spectacular, but the sushi itself was not great. The tempura was stale and chewy and the prices were ridiculous for the quality.

I came here for my friend's birthday. I was surprised with the restaurant. It does not look attractive outside. But I was impressed with the decor. Very contemporary Asian with the smart use of space, bamboos, wood strings blinds, gold and bronze touches here and there....I like the soft chillout music in the background. Very intimate and comfortable environment. The staff are pretty young. It took quite a while to get our food....can't blame them because the place was packed. I love sushi...but they have to be authentic sushi (Like Tokyo restaurant) rather than the mixed American sushi (like Neko, Musashi)...I didn't expect much because of the set up. But the food turned out pretty good. The appetizer avocado shrimp were good and sashimi was decent (of course it can't compare with Tokyo). The firery seafood was served in the hot stoned pot, which was good...well...its taste was nothing spectacular. I did try a number of rolls: alligator, heaven, lobster volcano, crazy cajun...they were pretty good and with the music in the background, hot sake, and contemporary Asian decor, I have to say: it was more than I expected. I will definitely come back....got spot to hang out with friends....got spot if you are looking for something trendy...A solid four star from me!

I'd rate the food 3.5 and put the rest at 4.25 (yes, I like rating systems that give more leeway than simply 1-5 stars). So that makes 4'ish overall. The food is original, interesting and varied, although sometimes too rich for my taste buds. If you want something fresh and healthy have the steamed white tuna. It is excellent. Otherwise this place is great. The decor is first-rate and a breeze of fresh air in OKC. It definitely has a Asian feel about it and is one of those places that would easily double as a lounge. Unfortunately it closes way too early (9 pm) so if you want to relax you'd have to come early.

I decided to treat myself to the angel roll, one of my favorite rolls in the city. I popped in by myself grab a seat at the bar. While I was looking at the menu, I became a little concerned that no one had offered to take my drink order or offer me water. They weren't terribly busy from what I could surmise, and I've certainly been here when it was so much busier. Directly in my eye line, I realized the hostess talking to a waitress. The waitress had her back to me, glanced over her shoulder at me, and then said no and shook her head. I think they realized I'd seen that, and the hostess scurried off to get someone else to help me. Wow. If you're too busy, you're too busy. It shouldn't matter what the customer looks like, if they are male or female, or how they're dressed. Period. Also, as someone who has gotten comfortable over the years eating alone, there is always still that little bit of self-consciousness that happens when you walk in alone, sit alone, and wait to be helped or wait for your food. There's lots of fidgeting and phone checking. This didn't help. It would have gotten two stars except the server who ended up taking care of me was lovely and of course the roll was wonderful as per the usual. Doesn't matter, I probably won't be back anytime soon. I should have knocked it down a star for subjecting me to Megyn Kelly staring down at me from the TV behind the bar. Yikes!

I wanted sushi. I wanted sushi from a place that I haven't eaten at before. Therefore, the Missus and I arrived at Saii. First, let me say that the atmosphere of Saii is absolutely splendid. You're a comfortable distance away from other guests and aren't bombarded with obnoxiously loud music or people. Also, the decor isn't the usual, "We're an Asian restaurant, so let's just throw Koi fish, water lilies, and pagodas everywhere," but more of a muted, elegant look. Our waitress, Iliza, was a peach! She checked up on the Missus and I enough to be of help, but not too much to be bothersome. Now, to the food. I am VERY critical of sushi, because I lived in California and enjoyed some of the best sushi on Planet Earth. With that being said, I believe that Saii stacks up with some of the best sushi places I've eaten at in the Golden State. I had the coconut shrimp roll and the Missus had peanut curry. (Both were delicious!) Let me say that I've never had a sushi roll quite like the coconut shrimp roll. It was raw, but was covered in toasted coconut flakes which gave the roll a crunchy texture that is unlike many sushi rolls I've had. I'd recommend this roll for anyone that is curious about sushi, but nervous that sushi can only be "raw" and/or "slimey." Overall, it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in Loud City.

Saii is my lunch/dinner date staple with a friend each time I am in OKC. As for almost every sushi restaurant I go to I like to order one tempura fried roll and one other sushi roll. This time was no exception. I ordered the newly added (at least since my last visit in November) Thunder roll and the staple Philly Roll. Both were fantastic - the tempura fried roll pieces are *huge* here and can be a task to eat in one bite! Previous rolls I have had here include the JB Roll, Spider Roll, and Sex on the Beach (tempura cream cheese/egg omelet/cucumber/asparagus/orange/garlic mayo on the outside). I know that last one sounds a little crazy - but seriously, that was one delicious flavor profile. My friend always gets the Fire Cracker Roll and she is in love with the spicy burn. Service is always good - attentive and willing to answer questions. Typically it takes me awhile to decide on my selection because of indecisiveness as well as catching up with my friend. I have never felt like the wait for sushi was long at all. The atmosphere in here is not what you would expect from the strip mall location. There are both private tables and more open collection of tables with pillows and swanky decor throughout the restaurant - all under dim mood lighting. So, I would say if you are looking for a romantic place for dinner - this is an excellent choice.

This place has exploded since it opened its doors a couple years ago. Saii is a great place to go for a relaxing and delicious lunch or dinner. The decor, music and atmosphere of the place are unlike anywhere else in Oklahoma City and when I come here, I feel as though I'm sitting at a lounge in NYC. Now for the food: I have never had anything here that was disappointing. I normally order the spicy basil noodle which consists of flat rice noodles, basil (obviously), red peppers, onions, mushrooms and garlic. During lunch they bring out miso soup with your order. Being a vegetarian, I don't eat sushi, but they have vegetarian sushi! The yummy roll is my favorite, with sweet potato and avocado and some kind of mayo drizzled on top. Their ginger salad dressing is fantastic and they have some great banana tempura. Also, their black jasmine iced tea is heavenly and I would order it in bulk if possible. This is also a special place for dinner and reservations are required on weekends. I gave only 4 stars because the service isn't the best and it often takes a very long time to get your food (I have sat at Saii for over an hour on my lunch break) but when someone asks for a suggestion on where they should go eat in OKC, Saii is usually my first answer.

This place is great for Sushi and service. I have really enjoyed each trip and their Birthday gift for signing up. Their cooked dishes did not impress me, but I am spoiled by a great place in Texas. I will eat here on my trips to OKC and the service is hard to beat.

This place has wonderful food. Both the sashimi and rolls are top-notch here. Some of the best in OKC. The real downside to this place is the fact that they know the food is good. Their restaurant is tiny, it's pricey and reservations don't mean junk. When you make a reservation, don't expect to be seated when your time comes. All the bad out in the open, it's damn good sushi. Sometimes ya gotta put up with a mile of crap to get the goods, ya know? Call, AT MINIMUM 5, days in advance if you want a table on Friday night. Pros 1 Awesome sushi 2 Great regular plates Cons 1 Maybe the slowest sushi place in town.....I mean REAL slow 2 Pricey 3 Impossible to get a table on a Friday or Saturday night when you have more than 2 people. Try the Heaven roll......It's a little pricey at $14, but well worth it!

Don't be afraid to order sushi in OKC. At least I am no longer leery of doing so. We arrive on a Thursday night at 6:30. There were maybe 4 tables with guests at them. Uh Oh!!!! But by the time we left at 7:30 the place was packed with a good size line. Go figure, OKC is a late dining town. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh! We ordered the sweet shrimp, delicately brined served with black roe on the top, eel maki, standard roll nothing hit the nail on the head, spicy scallop nigiri, fresh scollops slathered in a perfectly spiced dressing that compliment and not over powered the scallops, mackerel nigiri, very fresh for a pickled fish, and super white tuna sashimi, cut thick (should have been a bit thinner) but oh so fresh and delicious. The service was diligent and punctual, but the sushi guys were slow. It took 30 minutes to get our order and there were only 4 other tables. They had a very nice selection of cold sakis and they knew how to serve them. It was just a very satisfying dining experience. You want sushi in OKC, SAII BISTRO.

This is probably my favorite sushi spot in OKC. I'll admit, my husband and I have not had the best of luck finding a good spot - though we might be spoiled due to living on the East Coast for some time. The restaurant is nicely laid out so you can have a good conversation without the people next to you being so close they feel like they could join in. It does occasionally get a bit loud, but that is because normally they are pretty busy. Reservations are not necessary but recommended if you are going at peak dinner time. They will always ask if you have one, and I have found that when I say "no" (I usually just try my luck) they look at me as if I have committed some sort of offense, but then they usually find a spot for us no problem. I have not given 5 stars because Saii does sometimes "miss", it hasn't happened often, but there have been instances of poor service, or food that was not quite up to par. With that said, I have consistently gone back because when they are on, they are really on --- and are definitely more on than not.

The dimly lit, glowy atmosphere is such a romantic and cozy oasis anytime of the day. We were led to the back to a table and booths that were partially separated from the others to create an intimate experience. Not snobby or fancy, but we felt really comfortable in our study stuff. The waitstaff was gracious, answering all our questions, and the list of sushi rolls was decked out in delicious creations. I decided on the lobster bomb, a warm, rich roll that made me feel just like Christmas. My friend and I shared the octopus salad which was pretty good (but I love the deep purple of the one at Tokyo sushi) and my friend's fried rice looked pretty healthy and like something I would eat with fresh, almost raw veggies it looked like (don't quote me on this. . . I was stuffing myself with my own mid-afternoon-turned-into-dinner snack.) I'm quite a sushi snob, well-travelled and all that, and I would say that OKC really kicks it higher than most cities in the sushi department. I will def. be back! EDIT: omg I wrote this first review in Sept. of 2012. . . memories! Well I went back tonight (12/4/14) and it still rocked. It is still 5 stars. I wish they had mochi ice cream, but whatever, the hot stone bowl of noodles and beef had fresh/raw veggies in it - GOOOD and my surf and turf sushi roll was GOOOD, and still romantic and yummy and happy and all that (oh, cucumber vodka drink: GOOOD). Green tea ice cream not so much (I like my ice cream stone cold hard), but whatever, I was too tipsy to care, and tipsy is why I ordered dessert anyways because I never do. Oh, octopus salad: still GOOOD. goodnight.

Saii has and continues to be one of my favorite places ever! I live in LA and cannot find a roll as good as the Heaven Role anywhere. When I come to visit my family Saii is on the top of the list of places to visit. The wine list and cocktails are also always evolving and never disappoint. Whether you are on a date or meeting up with some friends, Saii is the place to go!

I've only had their sushi and the rolls taste pretty good, but their yellowtail/hamachi sashimi was not so fresh. I guess I can't complain too much since Oklahoma is land blocked, but I've had much better sushi at other restaurants. This place is still a neat place to take a date and relax with a cocktail. Oh.. forgot to mention our server we had was extremely awful, but he is no longer at this establishment so, you probably won't run into extremely awful service like my bf and I did.

Great space great food! We have been to Saiii several times over the last couple of years and have always had a great meal. I'm a sushi fan but here I can't get past the wonderful hotpots and other offerings. You can get sushi everywhere these days but venture into the rest of the menu and you'll be very pleasantly surprised! The space is very well done - something between a zen garden and an asian bazaar. They accept open table reservations and I suggest making one. We've walked in mid-week and found it packed with a wait. Other times it isn't busy at all but you just never know.

Just ate there for the first time a few days ago. Never had heard of it until a friend brought it up since it wasn't near where I lived. The decor was amazing which made the atmosphere spectacular. The prices are a little more than most places, but it didn't dissuade me too much. Obviously wouldn't have minded it being a little bit cheaper on the sushi, and their drinks are really overpriced, but that is to be expected. All in all, will return for special occasions, but it wouldn't be my "go to" place for sushi.

This place was so nice inside! It didn't look like much from the outside, but it's beautiful and trendy. I ordered the wild coconut roll and it was huge and so delicious. I didn't have any room for desert. The service was outstanding. I can't wait to go back, two big thumbs up!

Wonderful! Went here for the first time last night after rave reviews from friends. Made a reservation, which I would highly advise, especially on a Friday or Saturday. Husband had the Teriyaki Chicken and Steak Pot, and he loved it. I had the Pad Thai Noodle bown and substituted Tofu, which wasn't on the menu and it was perfectly done and not mushy at all. The server offered us a wine that was on special and since we had never tasted that brand before, he brought us a small sample, quite nice. We had the Tuxedo Bomb that the server raved about and wasn't on the menu. My husband loved it, he thought it was like a creamy napoleon pastry. I thought it was good, but since I'm a chocoholic, it wasn't dense enough in chocolate for me. We will go back FOR SURE. Nice envirnonment and not crammed together which was a big plus.

Food is wonderful but the kitchen is super slow. Our server was very gracious. We had am 830 reservation. Sat at 845. Ordered at 915. And didn't receive our food until 1030. Good food but not worth the wait. We had a good size group but there was no excuse. If the kitchen can't handle it then don't allow the reservation.

While in OKC for business on two different trips, had two different experiences. The first was the Fiery Seafood Bowl. Excellent. Would order that again and recommend it. But on the second trip, the sushi wasn't that great and two friends stomachs had a rough night. Loved the lay out of the restaurant, trendy, upscale, and booths/tables made it seem like you were secluded.

here's the thing with saii ... the food is always spot-on. the service, well, it's always a bit curious. i'm going to walk you through my last four visits. case #1: keep in mind we did have a reservation because it was a weekend and we had a party of 8. we arrived before reservation time, so obviously a little bit of a wait at the bar was assumed. an hour and a half wait to be seated AFTER our reservations time was not okay. all in all my party and i ended up waiting two hours on a table. the server or manager never, at any point, offered any kind of apology or free appetizer or anything, so i was a little miffed. food was stellar, however. case #2: reservations, again. but they, once again, ran behind. this time it was a thursday and party of 4. 40 minutes after the actual reservation time we were seated. the full party was there a little bit before reservation time, once again. an apology was offered this time. as always, stellar food. case #3: i did not make a reservation, and i think it was a friday. we were seated within ten minutes. there were three of us. food = great case #4: no reservations. party of two. seated within fifteen. food = great BUT, the service was confusing, at best. the seemingly friendly waitress did a great job, food was timely and delish, but when asked if she'd bring the check, she asked if it would be together or separate. my date said together. she then replied, "ohhhh together? you should be separate." to which we, sitting on the same side of the table, exchanged confused glances. he confirmed the check would, in fact, be together. she giggled and said she was kidding. to be fair, english was clearly not her first language. he swears it was a communication issue. i think he got hit on hardcore ... in front of me, his date. no one will ever know. it ended up being really funny, but STILL. i'd say that most people wouldn't have been as cool with it. so, if you want good food and don't mind erratic service, this is your haunt.

Yeah this place looks cool with its Asian decor and good-looking wait staff but that is all this place has going for it. Not even sure why I went back. The octopus was tough and the spicy tuna roll was the worst tasting sushi roll I have ever had anywhere. This is not a good sushi place.

Atmosphere and food were wonderful. Server was probably new so that part was not up to the level that the restaurant & food was. Tempura veggies were great as was the pungent chicken.

Fantastic ambience, great wait staff, and nicely designed rolls. Oh, and the yellow tail and mackerel sashimi were exceptionally delicious... Only critique was the lobster roll was kinda cold and spider asparagus was over cooked and brownish. On the plus side, the mr. Cool roll definitely redeemed some of the bad wrap. Lastly the green tea ice cream... Satisfying

Ate at the sushi bar. For app had the dumplings and jalapeño sashimi. Dumplings were freshly made and OK. The sashimi was thick, fresh and very tasty. Two rolls - Angel & King of Ocean , both very fresh and tasty. You may want the House Ponzu sauce for the KoO. Service was fast and friendly. Defintely going back when I'm in OKC

I was visiting from out of town and ordered a few rolls for pick up to bring back to my hotel. They didn't include any chopsticks in my bag, the rice in the rolls was overcooked, and the chef tossed the rolls into an oversized take out container with no concern about how crappy it looked. I gave 2 stars because the tuna was relatively fresh.

Grocery store sushi at NYC sushi bar prices. I am in town for business and had a craving for sushi, stopped by due to having great Yelp reviews. Place is located in a strip mall - no problem. Walked inside, beautiful atmosphere. I was by myself and asked to sit at the sushi bar. A the host walked me over, and I asked him if I could sit at the bar instead. (Sushi bar was right in the middle of all of the traffic flow) The pompous a$$ said: "we have a lot of reservations and we like to keep the bar open for them while they wait for their table". I was perplexed by this comment, never heard of such a thing. Figured ooh well, just want some sushi and a glass of wine. So I sat at the sushi bar. I had to have a laugh at the prices on the wine list. A glass of a "deadly" Zin was $9, that is the same price as at the store. I understand the markup of wine at a restaurant, but we are at a sushi place in a strip mall in Oklahoma City, are you serious? A glass the same price as a bottle? Never paid that ratio even in the heart of Napa or San Francisco. I ended up with a nice Pinot from Oregon, expensive, but I am here on business... whatever! My waitress was probably the best part of this place besides the decor. She was very friendly. I ordered a roll, nigri and a salad. Salad was quite good and fair priced. Sushi roll was so-so and over sauced. Nigri was good but not spectacular. Got my check, over $40 for just me--- 1 roll, 1 nigri, 1 salad, 1 glass of wine--- wow! I do not have a problem spending money on food, just not for this place. I see the appeal of this place, nice atmosphere, good place for a sushi novice, but I will not be back. Bottom line... overrated.

Mediocre and expensive sushi, made by a Burmese sushi staff. Pretty sure Myanmar isn't a sushi hotbed. The restaurant itself is, however, very nicely done, with a lot of privacy between booths. Also, a very nice bartender in the back.

DELICIOUS sushi! The atmosphere is cool and hip - a nice surprise to a restaurant found in a strip mall. But, don't let the outside fool you. Inside, you'll feel like you're in a whole 'nother city, one that caters to upscale dining and sushi snobs. Yet, unlike places you'll find elsewhere, your money goes far here. I think I spent $30 on what had to be generous sashimi portions and a couple large, satisfying rolls. PLUS a glass of wine! If it's a busy weekend, I'd recommend making a reservation. Otherwise, you'll be forced to wait. There's a tiny bar in the back of the restaurant, but it had maybe 6 stools available. I was definitely impressed with this place! But should you just take my word for it? Well, my friend who lives in OKC and is a notable sushi snob (with good reason) said my review is too kind and that the service was bad. Either way, go see for yourself! Find out more here: eataroundokc.com/2007/sa…

An update. Ate here for my wife's 40th Bday. Saii is her favorite restaurant. I'm a lucky man to spend an afternoon in a beautiful restaurant with such a beautiful woman. Nothing has changed since our last review\visit. We still feel the same way. I like it, she loves it, good service, good food, she says best in the city, good price. I must say one thing. I had the blackberry tea and it rocked, couldn't get enough of it. That is until the caffeine turned me into a mess. That's my fault though, i must have had 7-8 refills. It was hot out, i was thirsty, still haven't slept since Saturday... This was my step sons first time eating sushi. He got the shrimp tempura role. I know i know, its Americanized sushi. All of it is cooked. But its a good way to start out a sushi novice. I had a taste and it was friggin good! I had the wasabi role, yellow fin etc etc. it was good, not great but good. He would not try it with the old cliche that he would rather fish with it. Curiously i dont have a comeback for that one. Does anyone have a comeback for that one? Its not to late I can still use it on him. In any case my wife loved her meal (she had the college role and tempura veggies) and that's what counts. Thank you Saii for another very good meal and making me a hero to a beautiful wonderful woman. We could not do much for her 40th, wanted to go on a cruise but times are not easy. So the one thing she really wanted was to eat at your Establishment. You did great! See you for mine in Sept.... 50..OMG!

Nice little place. The decor and ambiance were perfect. Service was fast and friendly. Miso soup was good. The coconut shrimp was different, and delicious. My sister had the Heaven Roll, and it was quite good. I had a roll with lobster in it (lobster drop maybe?) that was just ok. Prices were about average for a sushi place. I don't live in the area, but will come again when visiting!

Very modern trendy sushi place with a young crowd. Price is very reasonable and sushi quality is good. I would recommend coming here . They have a lot of rolls to pick from. I would say it's comparable to sushi neko. I would definitely come back.

My husband and I went here Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. We've noticed that a lot of the restaurants in OKC seem to be in strip centers, which is a bit different than what we were used to in Ausitn. The interior of the restaurant was nicer than I thought it would be. It had a very modern zen feel. It was clean and the music was good. I like the arrangement, with the sushi bar up front and a regular bar in the back. The food was good and our waitress was very nice, but the service was not that great. You could go a little dressy or casual and be just fine. My husband had noodles and I had the shrimp and ginger clay pot. my food was steaming hot (and tasty) and stayed that way the entire time, which was nice since it took me about 30 minutes to at it. When my husband finished his meal (before I was even halfway done) the waitress asked if we wanted dessert. I usually get dessert, especially if I am trying a restaurant for the first time. However, he replied no. A few minutes later, the waitress brought us our bill. I was still not even halfway done. That made me feel like the waitress just wanted us to leave, though her manner was really quite nice. Suggestions for the restaurant: some of the table need to be repainted, they are looking quite worn. Replace the wallpaper in the bathrooms and see if you can get rid of the water mark around the walls and on the door; it looks like it flooded in there at some point. Train your staff to be timely with service; you don't want people waiting, but you also don't want them feeling rushed. I would eat here again; the sushi plates looked good and I'd like to try some of them.

I've eaten at Saii many times. Very good. Very fresh. Not authentic, but that's not their thing. They are fresh, fresh, fresh (because they get their fish from the same place that Tokyo Sushi on Western does). The Firecracker Roll is amazing. Amazing. I would consume this every day if I could. A perfect amount of "fire" to balance the creamy fat of the tuna. Simplicity. The ambiance is really nice too. Very dark and clean with a rather large bar in the back. You wouldn't expect such a nice place in where it is located but, trust me, it's worth your time to check out. Decent place for a casual/semi-fancy date.

I have dreams about the Happy Veggie Roll. That little tiny piece of pickled lemon on top is, quite possibly, the most delicious piece of citrus in existence. They have a pretty good wine and sake selection. At some of the tables, the seats are more like couches than booths. Soo comfy! When I have a terrible day at work, Saii for dinner makes my life seem wonderful again. Edit 1/18/11: The service seems to be going downhill at Saii in a big way. Just FYI.

Ive not had sushi as good as this one in a long time. Saii kind of gets lost among the other business on the strip mall but once you get in you are received by a water fall and very cool ambient, dimmed lights and either individual booths .. food is excellent, very well presented and substantial, best of all, at a very good price. I had miso soup, endadame and a philly roll for 10 dlls definitely going back as many times as i can

This review is not about the food. I didn't make it that far. I'm from Dallas and was in OKC for a month on business. It was an early Sunday evening, about 5:30...late July...hot and deserted. I had heard about the place and wanted to try it. I walked through the door and held up a single finger indicating I would be dining alone. WHY DO THEY PUT THE DUMBEST PERSON AT THE FRONT DOOR?!?!? I asked for a table. She replied, "Is a counter seat ok?" I'm never opposed to sitting at a sushi counter and watching the action. However, no one else was seated at the counter...where do you think she sat me...on the front end, in front of a wood wall. I had about a foot and a half of counter top and a wood wall straight in front of me. SHE WAS NOT EVEN BRIGHT ENOUGH TO PUT ME IN FRONT OF A SUSHI CHEF!!!!! She said, as she placed the menu, "Is this ok?" I said, "No, why do you treat people dining alone like second class citizens?" She giggled like an imp. She said, "Enjoy your dinner." I said, "I won't." She giggled and walked off. I sat my bag on the seat and walked around to review seating options. There were plenty. As I returned a waiter asked if he could get me anything. I told him the situation and that I was too mad to stay. He was very nice and quickly got an older, mature woman as I was leaving. She seemed apologetic and said, "Please stay, you may sit anywhere you like." I understand that, but it's too late and the mood for the evening has already been set because you PUT THE DUMBEST PERSON AT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! I told her I would return to my hotel and order room service. If I was going to stare at a wall at least it would be my own. Again, why do they spend all that money setting up a beautiful restaurant and PUT THE DUMBEST PERSON AT THE FRONT DOOR?!?!? What a bad investment choice. I'm happy that I left.

I'm in California & my sister is in OKC so I called trying to purchase a gift certificate for her. They couldn't grasp the concept that I could not come in with my credit card to make the purchase. Not a very accommodating restaurant - guess they just lost this sale!

I eat here once a week. Sushi is part of my regular diet. They have exceptional rolls. I always request Lisa as my server because some of the others are not up to par. Also, the manager is a complete a$$. For that, Saii only gets a 4 star rating.

I am staying in OKC on business and decided to try Saii. I enjoyed it so much, I went back 2 more times during my stay. The fish is fresh and the sushi chef is very friendly and knowledgeable. The rolls are a little pricey but they are also delicious. I have been to a couple of other nearby Sushi places and didn't like them nearly as much. The place is clean, the decor is very nice and the staff is friendly. My only criticism is that the chef makes her own ponzu sauce and hasn't taught her assistants to make it so if she isn't there, you are out of luck. Overall, I have had a great experience for 3 visits now. I will definitely return on my next trip.

Great hidden gem! It's located in a strip mall-like location, so it's easy to miss...but DON'T! DO, however, make a reservation! Our friend had some foresight and did this for us when we all went on a Sunday evening. We're lucky he did because the place was packed-- on a Sunday! I was dining with all hardcore sushi fans (made more hardcore because we'd all just watched "Jiro Dreams of Sushi"), and they loved everything they ordered. I, not being a hardcore sushi fan myself, ordered their Pad Thai (I know, I know, "How could you order pad thai at a Japanese sushi restaurant?!"), but to be honest with you: it was delightful. Much thinner noodles than the traditional flat rice noodles used in the Thai dish, but SO delicious. I asked for medium heat, and they did it spot on! Everyone else tried my pad thai and agreed it was amazing. It's totally worth it to come to Saii just for their Pad Thai and other noodle bowls. My friend ordered the Spicy Basil Flat Noodle dish, and that too was really tasty! The presentation, I might add, is also beautiful. The sizzling stone pots also looked pretty good, so I may have to try one next time. Another huge bonus in my book is that they offer Gluten-free soy sauce. Most of the time, people with gluten sensitivies have to tote around their own gluten free soy sauce and they often forget to bring it with them. My boyfriend forgot to bring his, so we were thrilled that they actually had gluten free soy sauce here. These are the only negatives about this place: service can be very slow (probably because it was packed, but still). Our server was a genuinely great guy, but I guess the whole process runs a little slow at this restaurant. This place is quite expensive, so for grad students like us...it can put you back a bit. Lastly, the lychee martinis here are pretty bad. I was so excited when I saw "lychee martini" on an Oklahoma City menu, so my friends and I each ordered one ($8 ea). I was pretty disappointed. No lychee flavor in the drink at all. There was a single lychee scewered on a cocktail stick in the drink, but the drink itself did not embody lychee. I would not recommend this cocktail. Overall, though: Great suhi and great noodle dishes (+ Gluten free soy sauce)!

We picked this place simply because it was close to our hotel, and the only place close with good yelp reviews. The menu was very extensive and a lot of different things looked appealing. I eventually narrowed it down to the mussels as an appetizer, and the samurai set. The mussels were very well made and the sashimi was fresh. On the whole it was a little on the pricey side for what it was, but very enjoyable.

I am a fan of sushi. It was nice to find a place in OKC that had a cool Asian feel to it. From the bamboo floors to the water fountains to dark colors which yields secluded dining experiences to the art on the walls, I was very impressed. This time, I ordered the Sashimi with slices of jalapeno on each slice. Not bad. If you are very hungry, I would not order this entree as it is very small, like 5 small pieces of Sashimi. The Jasmine tea as refreshing. Overall, great dining experience!

I started going to Saii when they first opened. The food was fantastic, and the prices reasonable. The Saii went into a 'sophmore slump" that was the result of poor management. Then Fen, the owner, got two professionals to assist him, and voila, Saii is back on target with great Asian food, and some of the best sushi in town. The decor is smashing, and you don't feel like you are in Oklahoma. Warning, especially on weekends make sure you call in for reservations. An hour wait without it should be expected.

I have been going to Saii for over 3 years now and have never had a bad experience! The food is always great, the cocktails are always delicious and the atmosphere is fun, trendy and romantic all in one! I haven't found ANY sushi in Oklahoma that is as good as it is at Saii. The Spicy Tuna roll and the Yummy Roll are both favorites of mine. You really can't go wrong with Saii. Enjoy!!!

Let me say, I'm not a sushi fan but my sushi fan friends loved it. I'm talking atmosphere here, can you just spell Feng Shui? You can't eat it but you sure can feel it. What a calming and relaxing environment. Some really exceptional decor and not what you typically see in Oklahoma City. So, being all zen and calm and all might have caused me to love all my food but the wine prices do take the edge off that. It has been pleasant and wonderful every time. Love it!

Great food and very reasonably priced for the quality. We had the shogun sushi set and it was a perfect amount for two people. Waitstaff was a bit quirky but generally pretty attentive. Great atmosphere with some serious mood lighting and funky music. As other reviews have mentioned the only downside is that you're looking at possibly an hour wait on Fridays and Saturdays. Bottom line... definitely going back... with a reservation!

"Great", I thought, "yet another strip mall sushi bar." Fortunately for me, Saii is not just another strip mall sushi bar and it's not your typical OKC place. As a bonus, it's open on Sundays after 5 pm. The interior is dark woods with lots of corners and places to have quiet conversations. Non-tacky bamboo and Buddha art adorn the walls, floors, and ceiling. Quiet trippy "Buddha Lounge" music provides a backdrop to help keep distance between groups, but doesn't overwhelm to become the conversation. A good wine and sake list with plenty of choice to suit your mood. Not just hot Gekkeikan served in a tacky carafe. Usual selection of Japanese beers. Mixed drinks available too, including some that suggest they have a bartender who might know what they are doing. Being our first visit, I went with a California roll and a spicy tuna roll with Edemame. All were good, but next time I will go with the California Deluxe and get real crab meat instead of the pureed mystery fish. My wife was more adventurous and went for the Sweet Potato Roll and the Yummy Roll. She reports that both were very tasty. The staff were young and hip looking in all black, but unlike the staff at Neko, they weren't too cool to talk to the customers. Our waiter was friendly without hovering and gave a couple of good suggestions. We'll be back.

Terrible service and the food was really bland! Waited for someone to meet us at the door, sat at the sushi bar on our own. We both asked for water, Rich an Asahi beer and I asked for green tea. The server completely forgot Rich's beer and after 15 min when the server asked how we were doing, he said he'd like his beer. I had expected hot green tea, but it was iced....normally in a sushi place the default is hot. The "spicy" mussels were okay, but had no spiciness whatsoever. Also, the mussels arrived and we had no plates nor a bowl to discard the shells in. The waitress had the plates and a small bowl with her, but only gave us the mussels. The sushi was nicely presented, but had NO flavor. I had the wasabi roll and again not at all spicy. The wasabi sauce was basically runny mayo and the spicy mayo was you guessed it - flavorless! I couldn't add enough wasabi, which means it was also bland?!?! I also had some tuna and salmon sashimi. The salmon was ok, but the tuna was the lightest pink I have ever had in a sushi place. I originally thought the earlier review saying that it was essentially supermarket sushi at NYC prices was pretty harsh. Now, after spending over $50 for an extremely blah lunch, I couldn't agree more!!! I gave it an extra star for the decor and fung shui....meh....

We have only been once, but plan on going back many times! The atmosphere is great, the servers knowledgeable and friendly. The sushi was the best I have had in a long time. Has some of the same menu items as Sushi Neko - and made better!

I am a huge fan of Thai cuisine, so when my friend took me to Saii, I got more than what I expected. There are 3 things I look for in a new restaurant: the food, the place and the service. We obviously got their mouth-watering Pad Thai, and a couple of sushi dishes that were creatively named (such as Marilyn MonRoll). The food was excellently prepared and the flavors were very distinct. The restaurant was also designed well, giving you an intimate atmosphere to chat with friends or family. The service was incomparable. I enjoyed chatting with the owner who stopped by several tables to chat with each customer. So, if you're looking for a place to hang out or just enjoy fabulous food, this is the perfect choice.

My fellow Yelp friend took me here to try out the Asian fusion cuisine. The food was excellent and the setting was very trendy. Loved the friend banana dessert, yummmmmmy :) I was fortunate to meet the restaurant owner who was very friendly and took the time to tell us about his interior designing of the restaurant, which is truly beautiful.

once you walk into saii, it's like you left okc and entered a different part of the country. it has one of the best atmospheres of all the restaurants i've been to in the metro area, and the food has always been good. i recommend this to anyone who already lives in okc or those in town on business.
